MATERIALS - What you need to bring
Feel free to bring any materials that you would like but please include the following or similar:
Paper
(sizes approximate)
9” x 12” to 11" x 15" or A4 to A3 sizes
Watercolour paper blocks are recommended in cold pressed or rough surfaces.
Good quality recommendations include: Arches, Saunders Waterford, Bockingford, Meeden, Windor & Newton and Langton.
• Drawing Sketch Pad: A4 (8” x 12”) or A5 (6” x 8”) - or similar

Paints
Either tubes or pans - ‘artist’ or ‘student grade’ - no cheap sets!
Good quality recommendations include: Windsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Schmincke,
Van Gogh, Sennelier and Daler Rowney

Cadmium Yellow - alternatives: Hansa Yellow Light, New Gamboge, Indian Yellow
Alizarin Crimson - alternatives: Permanent Rose, Rose Madder, Crimson Lake
Cobalt Blue - alternatives: French Ultramarine, Pthalo blue Red Shade
Other useful colours: Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Payne’s Grey, Cerulean Blue, Prussian Blue, Sap Green, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium or Pyrrole Red
Other essential items: Light weight plastic mixing pallet, Pencils (HB), Pencil sharpener, Eraser, Scalpel, Masking Fluid, Spray bottle (spritzer), Collapsible water holder,
Tissue/Kitchen paper, Sun hat, Camping chair.
